4.0 out of 5 stars Must have SOME mechanical skills to assemble Ok, I’m going to give you my thoughts and experience on the assembly of this gazebo.1: If you have no or very little mechanical skills,2: If you have few or no tools,3: If it just scares you too much, find someone to assemble it for you. It’s not the easiest thing in the world to do, but if you have some common sense, some decent hand tools (especially power tools) and time you might actually enjoy assembling it. Be fore warned, you WILL need help. One person cannot do it by themselves. Help isn’t needed all the time, but some assembly will require more than 1 person.Okay, here we go. Your gazebo will arrive in 4 very large boxes via FedEx. Give them a bottle of water and hearty “Thank you” when they arrive. The boxes are big and heavy. Unpack all 4 boxes and lay out the parts. Everything is well marked and labeled. You will need:1: A table of some sorts to put the various nuts and bolts and small assemblies on,2: A couple of saw horses,3: Socket wrenches and screwdrivers (If you don’t have power tools, GO BUY SOME! Bare minimum get an impact screwdriver. You’ll thank me later.)4: A freestanding ladder5: Time (Don’t we all).Lay out your nuts and bolts packages on a your table and open from the top side with a razor blade. You will need to see the letters on the packages. If you open from behind you will lose a bunch from flipping it over several times. Find your instruction manual. Groan out loud when you realize there are no written instructions, just pictures. Then start. If you are going to stain it, now is the time to do it. Don’t wait until it’s put together. The parts and lumber is very well labeled and fits together easily. When screwing lumber together, all pieces are either predrilled or marked with a small dot to show where to place the screws. This is very helpful. Also, do not tighten everything down until you have each assembly together. I had to remove and redo several pieces because I didn’t understand the instructions or missed a step or something. It happens. Most of the sub-assemblies can be done by yourself but you WILL need help when putting up the 4 post. 2 people might be able but 4 will be better. Make sure you assemble it where you want to leave it. You can make minor adjustments to it, but it ain’t going far. Make sure your ground is level and setup properly before starting. Now, go have some fun and enjoy. 22 people found this helpful
